TURBO-HEAD LX-1060
UVA air-driven grinding spindle Operating manual WORKING WITH TURBO-HEAD |
Turbo-Head is a precision tool. Care in handling is essential! Avoid shocks and blows. Even ones that may seem quite slight can seriously damage the bearings. Before starting a new spindle for the first time, let the oil mist lubricator run for at least 10 minutes. If new, or colder than 55°F (12°C), the spindle should be warmed up at 60,000 rpm for 10 minutes. The shut-off valve 5, Fig. 8A, should never be closed while the spindle is running: wait until it has stopped. Never let Turbo-Head stand still for more than 15 minutes without shutting valve 5.

CAUTION! A table of max. safe working speeds is given on page 10. Do not exceed them—quills driven at speeds above these can become a menace to human life. Take pains to keep quills, collet chucks and the tapers of spindles clean and undamaged. Work only with the special spanners supplied with the spindle. |
